The unintended expatriate blogger behind Lunar Grove Path

Hello, I'm Sofia
I am a project manager. Parent. An expatriate living in Lisbon, Portugal.
A few years back I moved here with my family. What began as a temporary assignment gradually became a new chapter of life overseas.
How It Started
Moving to Portugal wasn’t part of the long-term plan. Like many expat moves, it started as a work opportunity and soon grew into something far bigger.
The first few months were demanding — unfamiliar systems, new routines, and heightened expectations. Everyday tasks seemed more complicated than they should be.
The Adjustment Period
There was culture shock, uncertainty, and a lot of learning by doing. But gradually, routines took shape. We found places that worked for us, connected with other families, and began building something that felt stable.
Why I Built Lunar Grove Path
Most information online was either corporate-level relocation guidance or surface-level tourism material. What was missing was honest, day-to-day family perspective.
This site exists to close that gap — practical guidance based on real life in Portugal.
What This Site Represents (And What It Does Not)
This site is:
- Hands-on experience from living in Portugal
- Centered on family life and daily realities
- Updated whenever something truly changes
This site isn’t:
- Not a tourism authority resource
- Not a sponsored review platform
- Not a generic travel blog
Looking Forward
Our stay in Portugal continues, and the learning journey goes on. As long as the information remains useful, I’ll keep recording what we find.
If you have questions about family life in Lisbon or anywhere in Portugal, don’t hesitate to get in touch.
Best regards,
Sofia
